The volunteer Greeters of Poitiers and the surrounding area are deeply attached to their neighbourhoods and city and invite you to visit. They suggest original walks through the city and neighbourhoods, along waterways and through gardens, revealing another side of life in Poitiers. These residents will be delighted to share their city and surroundings with you: its atmospheres, favourite places and little stories.
They listen to you and adapt their walks to your interests, wishes and abilities in a friendly spirit. In keeping with their values, they adhere to the Greeters Charter, available at the bottom of the page.

Hello, and thank you to Françoise for this enjoyable discovery walk through Poitiers, which we greatly appreciated. Being able to talk with a resident was exactly what we were looking for, and we could ask her all our questions. The next day, we visited some of the shops and places she recommended. Poitiers is a very beautiful city, and we will return. Thank you, Françoise, and I hope one day to show you some of my favourite places in Lyon.
A wonderful discovery of Poitiers with Patrick, who was very friendly and made himself available earlier than planned because we arrived ahead of schedule. We wandered among the buildings we had spotted from the city heights and ended our walk in the Jardin des Plantes and alongside the Clain. It was very enjoyable.
IDEAL! The best way to discover the city before setting off on your own ‘adventure’. Patrick took me on an extensive tour—almost three hours—through narrow streets and past major monuments.
