Come for a walk with a Maine Saosnois resident, a Greeter

Local residents—Greeters—accompany you free of charge as you discover Maine Saosnois, sharing insights into the local people, stories and legends, as well as the area’s historical, architectural and natural features, which they have known for many years. Walking with a Greeter is an original and exciting way to discover the area! The experience takes you away from the usual tourist routes, teaches you countless local anecdotes and lets you enjoy a friendly moment with a resident.
Eleven Greeters currently welcome you to Maine Saosnois and offer around twenty discovery routes near Mamers and Saint-Cosme-en-Vairais. Our volunteer residents adapt to your wishes to offer personalised walks!

Where is Maine Saosnois?

It is a community of municipalities around Mamers, spanning the Sarthe and Orne departments. Geographically, it marks the end of the Perche, a natural region with which it also shares close historical ties. Known as Pagus Sagonensis or Saxonensis, the area forms part of Maine.
