More than a genuine alternative form of tourism based on volunteering and cultural exchange, this initiative creates connections between Marseille, its residents and its visitors. It allows local people to experience their city differently, while helping visitors feel and absorb it more deeply.
It is a new way to discover Marseille and take part in a different kind of tourism… Come and meet us!
Marseille, known as Marselha in Occitan, is a municipality in south-eastern France, the administrative capital of the Bouches-du-Rhône department and the prefecture of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

We were very happy with our walk to the Calanques with Gérard. He is very knowledgeable about everything from the city’s history to the area’s geography and biology. As an expert guide, he is the right person to go trekking with, but make sure to ask plenty of questions so that you not only enjoy the beautiful scenery but also learn something along the way. We met a second time in a lovely fish restaurant.

Meeting Yves, a resident of the Roucas-Blanc neighbourhood, was an unforgettable and precious moment of our stay. Passionate, attentive and generous with his time, he used his own experience to introduce us to Marseille’s evolution, particularly that of his neighbourhood. Yves also introduced us to rocaille architecture and gave us valuable advice for continuing our journey on our own. Thank you.

It was a wonderful and refreshing idea. She helped me understand the history and showed me many monuments and streets. She made it very easy for me to continue exploring the museums. Most of all, it was wonderful to be greeted by someone from the area. I am inspired to become a Greeter when I get home. It was a fantastic day. Thank you for providing this service.
