Adopted by Rennes since 2009, Caroline became a Greeter after an unforgettable experience in Barcelona. Passionate about Rennes, its cultural richness, and its quality of life, Caroline enjoys carefully preparing each new encounter before sharing friendly moments with travelers for free. She can thus adapt to their desires and interests, while taking care to share her own favorites, sometimes gourmet!
Caroline particularly remembers a warm summer evening with a Spanish group, mixing architectural discoveries, anecdotes and tapas in unusual places.

 
I’m 39 years old and a hospital nurse’s assistant. Adopted by Rennes in 2009, I fell in love with the city and its surroundings, its atmosphere, its cultural and social richness, and its wonderful quality of life. That’s why I’ve never left and why I’m passionate about sharing it.
I became a Greeter after a trip to Barcelona and a bike ride with a French-speaking woman. An unforgettable memory!
 
Being a Greeter is a free moment of sharing with one or more travelers (maximum 6). Making contact via the platform, agreeing to meet on a specific day, at a specific time, in a specific place in the city, adapting to people, their different interests, their wishes, this is the whole approach of the Greeter. Smiling, kindness, tolerance, taking the time to be interested in others, exchanging (in French or another language), making discoveries by showing what pleases each person are qualities that motivate Greeters above all. The Greeter is not a tour guide, he should not replace one. He is responsible for respecting a charter with precise commitments and rules.
 
I remember a summer evening when I hosted a group of French-speaking Spaniards who had just arrived in Rennes for a road trip on the Emerald Coast. At their request, we wandered through the monuments of Rennes, took the time to get to know each other and discuss our respective cities. They enjoyed discovering the different types of architecture, the historic district and, of course, the atmosphere of the Breton capital. Photos of wonder flowed amidst everyone’s anecdotes! The feeling was so good that I took them to share tapas in the unusual courtyard of the Hôtel-Dieu. We even ended our meeting at midnight, in the Place du Parlement de Bretagne, to appreciate the annual illuminations. A beautiful moment of sharing that I won’t soon forget!
